The magnificent Red Fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power, Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old fort of the 14th century with the 13 meter high Ashoka Pillar of 3rd BC. Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.

Drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the secretariat buildings - the center of all government activity and down the main avenue, the impressive Rajpath to the World War I memorial arch, the India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. the Qutub Minar, 72 meters high and the ruins of Quwat-ul-Eslam (Light of Islam) Mosque. See Delhi’s most curious antique, the uncorroded Iron Pillar, which dates back to the 4th century AD.

What this tour is about: Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square) is without doubt, the busiest market area in Delhi. It dates back to 1638, when Emperor Shahjahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi.His daughter Jahanara constructed a square, around which a busy market grew.

After breakfast pickup from Hotel and drive to Haridwar (230 Kms /6hours) visit Har Ki Pauri - after sightseeing proceed to Rishikesh(Haridwar to Rishikesh 25 Km) and evening back to Delhi.
Haridwar: is situated on the right side of the bank of the holy Ganga,and is the point where the river spreads over the northern plains.Associated with both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, Haridwar is amongthe seven sacred cities of India.
It is also one of the four venues forthe Kumbh Mela, held in its magnitude every twelve years. Essentially a religious centre which holds promise of salvation for devotees,Haridwar is also a centre of herbal medicine, and traditional studies at Gurukul Kangri. There are many places of scenic beauty on theoutskirts of the town.
Har Ki Pauri: King Vikramaditya constructed this sacred ghat inmemory of his brother Bhatrihari who it is believed had come to Haridwar to meditate on the banks of the Ganga. This ghat later cameto be known as Har-Ki-Pauri (also called Brahamakund).
At twilight,golden hues of floral Diya’s reflected in the river Ganga present themost enchanting sight. The imprint of Lord Hari’s footprint hallows theriverbank temple here. The ghat is regarded the most sacred andauspicious point to bathe in the Ganga during the 12 year Kumbh and the 6 year Ardh Kumbh.

Rishikesh: A celebrated spiritual centre, Rishikesh enjoys a calm environment, impressive water front and dense forest hills. The place is also a renowned centre for Yoga teachings.
Lakshman Jhula: This suspended iron bridge was built in 1939 and has been a major attraction among the tourists. Ram Jhula- The other suspended Iron bridge was recently constructed between Shivanand Ashram and Sawarg Ashram.
